Payments are processed by First UMC, Hickory, NC, either by online payment or by mailing a check. Instructions will be sent with your registration confirmation. Registration is not considered complete until the full payment has been received.

Cancellation Policy:
January retreat cancellations by December 1, 2025 will be returned less a $25 administrative fee. Cancellations after December 1, 2025 will be returned only if your place is filled by another participant (less the $25 administrative fee). June retreat cancellations by May 1, 2026 will be returned less a $25 administrative fee. Cancellations after May 1, 2026 will be returned only if your place is filled by another participant (less the $25 administrative fee).

How to make your retreat payment

Online Payment:
We are grateful to First UMC, Hickory, for handling our financial accounts. (Here is how to make your retreat payment online) 1) Click on this link to go to the payment page ... https://firstumchickory.churchcenter.com/giving/to/the-big-silence-retreat 2) Insert the amount of your retreat, make sure the Fund selected says "The Big Silence Retreat," and the Frequency is set to "Once." 3) Click the button that says "Continue to Give." Type your mobile number to receive a code by text, or click the line at the bottom to "Use email address instead." After you have added your phone/email, click the "Next" button. 4) Enter your payment information. NOTE: Bank processing fees are not included in your retreat amount. Payment by bank account (ACH) is only a flat $0.30 charge. Payment by credit card has a higher fee, shown at the bottom of the right column on the screen. In either case, please check the box at the bottom of the payment screen that says "Add $$$$ to cover the processing fee." Then click the blue/green button that says "Give $$$$" Pay by Check: To pay by check (no processing fee): Make your check to "First United Methodist Church."
